5 out of 5 stars My Son Loves His Drum
Darena Shopz

This is a great toy. It's well made and durable. The whole thing is plastic. The top and bottom is a flexible plastic that makes a great drum sound. It's the same on the top and bottom if its flipped over. The sticks are attached by rope that is long enough to play the drum with but short enough that it can't get tangled around the child's neck.My son loves toys that make music. Its educational, entertaining and takes nothing but an imagination to use.Highly recommend.

5 out of 5 stars Sturdy Toy

This is a well made toy; not very exciting but durable. My toddler grandkids, ages 1 & 3, get some enjoyment out of beating it but they both seem to prefer something that lights up. Nevertheless, I think every little one needs something to pound on to improve coordination, to have simple fun, and to make some noise. I feel very good about this toy and so does their Mom.

3 out of 5 stars Decent, but there are better options

This is a pretty straightforward toy. I am a big proponent of musical instruments to give kids constructive toys, and this fits the bill. A drum and xylophone are must-haves. However, it is yet another gaudy plastic toy that your kid will grow tired of after awhile. The sound is bad - sounds like a plastic bucket upside down rather than a drum. Kids don't care though, so I suppose it's ok.However, I want to help educate you in your purchase decision. If you're looking at this little tikes drum, then you should check out the Remo Kids Percussion drum in the same price range. It comes with soft mallets and sounds like a real drum. My son loves it, and I think he will get much longer use out of it than with this one, which I think he will start to see as a 'baby toy' much sooner. If you're sticking with little tikes, at least do yourself the favor of searching amazon thoroughly for it. There are three different listings for it, and range from $10 to $40 for the same toy. Happy hunting!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Drum for Little Ones

My kids have this, and it is the best drum for the age group that I have seen so far. The attached cords on the drum sticks make it less of a hassle for me because I'm not always hunting them down. A previous reviewer said they were too short, but I don't have that problem at all. I can even play it with no issues.

5 out of 5 stars 17 month old loves it-now 3-1/2 yrs old, still loves it

Got this for my 17 month old daughter for Christmas. She loves beating on things, so this was perfect for her. My main concerns when I was searching for a drum for her was safety and durability. I see no defects or flaws in this drum, so I would say that it is safe. As far as durability, its been a month, and she has beat it, sat on it, threw it, and so far, it doesn't have a scratch on it. I would recommend this for any little drummer boy or girl.*Update: Jan, 2012. We put this away with all the rest of the "baby toys". My daughter is now 3-1/2. I noticed she was hitting the bottom of a bucket, so I brought her drum out of storage. She loves it more now than she did at 17months. She hits it with her elbows out like she's on a drumline. (I cut the strings off.) Shakes her butt and sings into one of the drumsticks like a microphone. This is definitely not a just for babies toy.

3 out of 5 stars Unexpectedly disappointing

This was a gift for our one year old twins. I thought it would be perfect for their little hands to practice cause and effect and tapping to the beat. However, the strings on the drum sticks are way too short for my twins to use. Cutting the string is not an option, because then the sticks are a choking hazard. There is another kid drum on this site- Remo Kids Percussion, Floor Tom, 10 Diameter with Mallet, Rain Forest Fabric. It's about the same price and the reviews are fantastic!

5 out of 5 stars Very fun toy!

This was a present for my son for Christmas and he was just over a year old at the time. He loves it, and it is very durable. He sits and stands on it, and of course, it gets tossed around a bit too. My son's two Uncles, and his Godfather, all play the drums so they get in on the action too. I have no musical abilities, so I just bang on it with him. It is a simple, inexpensive, fun toy.

I bought this drum for my 2yr old nephew, because he loves drums. It is a very durable toy, he gets a little agitated when he can't take the sticks away because they are attached to the drum. Very safe.
