I bought a kingman mr1 about a month ago, and i absoultely love it. It is the best kingman yet!!!! I had a kingman victor for 5 years and i have loved kingmans ever since. My friend has a tippmann A-5 and(not knocking tippmann but) the mr1 was more comfortable, reliable, and extremly accurate. One of my favorite features is that it does not chop paint. i shot over 2,050 paintballs and not one broke. i like the military stock that comes with it it makes the gun fit comfortable in your arms and makes the gun feel lighter for a more accurate shot. Another strenth over the A-5 is it has a double trigger, and it is a kingman so u can use the rocking trigger system, e trigger, anti-chop bolt, or other great upgrades.

This is a great starting gun for casual and or starting paintballers. The gun is cheap, easy to maintain and has decent quality over all.
-strengths-accurate stock barrelcomfortabledoesn't chop paint-Weaknesses-grip wears out quickscope mount is too short to put a scope on.-reccomended upgrades-maybe a new barrel, but the stock barrel is accuratea hopper feeding at least 5bps-review-This gun has been the best paintball gun I have ever shot. I have used a Tippman 98 and guns from more lower end companies and this gun is by far the most accurate, reliable, and comfortable of all of them. At 80ft this gun shoots within a 7 in circle with Hot Spot paintballs!

I got this gun for a gift over the holidays. It works very well, and as it says, it's very tough. This marker has some heft to it, but feels really good. The stock is very useful in keeping your aim steady. The trigger is the only thing I'm going to change sometime , maybe this summer. Mainly because it squeaks slightly(though you can't possibly notice it with CO2 blasting) and it has some side-to-side movement though not much.Overall: Very good gun for the price. Though not electronic, the semi-only action saves you air/paint as well as the need of a charged battery.

Alright guys. I read a lot of the other reviews and I decided I would create an accurate non biased review on this gun. First things first. This gun is an entry level beginners gun. You can upgrade the bolt and stock and trigger to create a really nice mid-level gun. I will go over basics first, then things that should be considered. This is a very durabel gun and will not chop balls (using stock trigger). Now, every blue moon or so you may chop a ball but it's unlikely with the stock setup. It is pretty accurate, not super accurate, but pretty accurate with the short barrel. The rail system provided will not hold a scope unless you modify the rail system (which I will show later on). 'O' rings will be fine for some game time but, with any gun and Co2 or Oxygen, you will need to replace them. If you are looking for a cheap priced but good beginner gun, then get this. Now I will tell you what you should do if you want a much better gun. Buy a longer and nicer barrel. I bought a Smartparts linear 16 inch barrel. The accuracy went straight up with this new barrel and the sound does change and become quieter do to the air release holes near the end. The stock is fine unless you just want a cooler looking stock.. or just take it off for the matter if your playing speedball. You can buy an 'E-Trigger' for this gun which is amazing, it will be 70 dollars I believe but it makes all the difference. But, if you do buy the E-Trigger then you will need to buy an electronic speed loader. If you dont buy a speed loader then you will chop balls. Alos, if you are buying all the upgrades you will want to purchase a plastic lightweight bolt, it will move faster and much less likely to chop balls. Now, to mount a scope, do this.Read more ›

The Spyder MR1 is a very good paintball gun for both beginner and pro alike. It's rugged construction along with it's single pin quick strip bolt make it a very reliable and low maintenance primary or secondary marker. The milsim styling and customizability of this gun make it a no-brainer for scenario players (although players at higher skill levels may want to consider the E-MR1, MR3, or MR4). While a bit heavy by itself, you can feel right away that this marker will take bangs, nicks, and drops and still perform with a take-no-prisoners mentality.Performance: After a few field tests, I would say accuracy with the stock barrel is an issue. I have cheap off-brand paint balls from my local shop (1/2 the price of the other paints), and many vear left and right. This is easily fixed with an upgraded barrel. I would recommend either the Hammerhead 16" Bang Stixx or 14" Battle Stixx barrels, or the Lapco 12" Big Shot 'Apex Ready' Barrel (search Amazon : Lapco Spyder Apex Ready Paintball Barrel 12") along with the BT Apex tip (search: BT Designs Apex Paintball Barrel Tip Only) - and if you want even more fancy, you can get a BT Apex 2 barrel and use the tip on your 'Apex Ready' barrel (this will be by far the most expensive option). The offset feed is also very nice, as it allows for rile-like sighting, as well as in-line accessory attachment, such as scopes and red dots. However, I would recommend buying the Spyder MR Series Clamping Feedneck (search: Spyder MR MR1 MR2 MR3 Clamping Feedneck - Black). As I stated before, there are a number of milsim upgrades available, but I'll let you do the research on that (believe me, they're very easy to find).Overall, I would rate this paintball marker an 8.5 out of 10.Read more ›
