ARC Welding Tools
A welder's tools include not just the arc welding machine and electrodes, however the tools for planning the weld, like rulers and calculating tapes, tools for dressing the finished weld, to ensure that it does not look sloppy--welding is, in the end, a skill in addition to a trade--and private protective equipment from boots to mitts towards the familiar welding hood.
Dressing and Calculating Tools
Dressing tools are individuals accustomed to dress a completed weld by brushing it, hammering it or filing it so there is no slag and also the weld will not bulge and hinder adjacent moving parts or any other welds. They incorporate a slag hammer to knock hot slag in the weld, a 14-inch half-round file to file for a cooled weld, a wire brush with stainless bristles, a couple of vice grips (size 10WR) along with a 10-inch crescent wrench to carry, bend or flex the job. Calculating tools incorporate a 6-inch stainless ruler, a 12-inch combination square set, a 12-feet tape-measure along with a fillet weld gauge set. All this is transported inside a gal bucket, since plastic tool kits aren't permitted inside a welding booth.
Welding Machine and Electrodes
The welding machine is in the center from the toolset for that welder it produces the new spark which makes the weld by modulating the amperage from the electricity it operates on. The electrodes--the "stays" which are held in to the lead in the welding machine--are nothing more than a precision striving system for the use of that electricity to help make the weld.
Personal Protection Equipment
To help keep yourself from catching fire or suffering burns, you'll need leather welding masturbator sleeves which cover the upper limbs, a leather bib to pay for your chest and stomach, leather welding mitts, a welder's cap--it's 100 % cotton, since synthetic materials melt and could cause serious burns--cotton shirt and pants and work boots.
Eye protection equipment includes obvious safety glasses with side shields, a welding hood, and welding contacts--#4, #5, #9, #10, #11. Have spare welding contacts available.
