Make A Scrimmage Vest

Scrimmage vests are extremely simple to make--if you're able to wield a needle, thread, and scissors, you may make your personal manually without needing a stitching pattern. These loose-fitting overshirts are typically in vibrant colors, making identification around the area immediate and simple. Go to your local fabric store and study picking a sports mesh materials. Most stores offer a variety of solid primary colors in addition to interesting prints, for example camouflage, stripes, or Hawaiian-inspired floral prints.

Instructions

1. Fold your fabric in two lengthwise. For children and many grown ups, one meter of material is enough.

2. Look for a clean, loose-fitting tshirt or sleeveless undershirt for your pattern. Lay it over your fabric.

3. Pin the tshirt towards the fabric using straight sewing hooks.

4. Use additional straight hooks to mark your fabric by having an outline from the tshirt that's a minimum of three inches wider in the side seams. This measurement makes up about a 5/8-inch seam allowance, along with an extra inch of material on both sides. If you prefer a looser scrimmage vest, add more inches for your outline.

5. Eliminate your scrimmage vest, following pinned outline.

6. Unpin the tshirt and hang it aside.

7. Pin shoulders and sides of the scrimmage vest together, overlapping seams by 5/8 inch.

8. Turn the vest thoroughly and stitch shoulders and sides together.

9. Turn the vest right side out.

10. Cover the neck-line, arm holes and hem with seam binding tape. Put the fabric's raw edge among the finished edges from the tape and stitch it lower. This can keep your edges from fraying within the clean.
